Richard Greenberg's groundbreaking play returns to Broadway! When Darren Lemming, the star center fielder for the Empires, reveals he is gay, he encounters a barrage prejudices. As a result of his coming out he must rebuild friendships, overcome the hostility of teammates and work at finding how to be a gay person of color in the classic American past time. As the Empires compete for a championship, everyone involved, from the players to the fans investigate their relationship to tradition, loyalty and ponder the price of victory.

Jesse Williams makes his Broadway debut starring as Lemming. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Michael Oberholtzer, Patrick Adams, Julian Cihi, Brandon J. Dirden, Tyler Lansing Weaks, Eduardo Ramos, Carl Lundstedt and Ken Marks round out the cast

Richard Greenberg wrote the play, Scott Ellis directs.
